Better Days. . .

I don't know if it was just me determined to make today a better day than yesterday or if the kids knew I was frustrated. But, honestly my class was amazing today. I really don't think I could ask for a better one at this point.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do for Language, it is the problem with planning day-by-day. I just kept thinking about how disappointed I was with their compositions from last week. So, I gave them fifteen minutes to write about anything. I think the main problem with their compositions it is clear cut, "Only have to do two paragraphs." So, my students who don't want to take anything home for homework write the first thing that comes to their minds. Two paragraphs of four sentences each and call it good. When I know and they know they can to so much better than they do. I think the biggest problem, who wants to write about something some one else thinks would be good. Some of my students are very excited about writing now. I am excited about writing and teaching them. It is going to be an awesome experience for everyone.
They worked quietly while I was trying to get back for social studies. I felt math went so much better than it had in a while. Overall the day was great for a Friday, actually is was amazing for a Friday. Now I have a weekend to catch up on my sleep, relax, and have some fun. I think my new desk chair is on the agenda this weekend, along with a clean room. Life is great! and I really couldn't ask for a better one at this point.
