Third term started today. That means we are half way through the year. My first year is coming to a close. I spent all day yesterday putting grades in that should have been entered a month ago. My goal for the new term is to stay caught up. Also, to get my class to make sure the room is clean before they go home.
We got back from Christmas on the second, and then the sixth grade took two groups to the Environmental Center where we spent the night, we also went cross-country skiing. I felt like I hadn't really been back from the break until last Wednesday.
Now we are getting ready for science fair. I told my kids their grade is based on if they did the project or not. I am not going to take another three hours grading papers I really don't want to read anyway. I feel like they learn more working through the process of a science fair project than writing a paper on what they wanted to know, and what they did. We'll see how they do with the judges tomorrow. I am excited to see their projects and what they have been doing.
