Christmas

Well, I am finally to the day I have been waiting for for weeks. The last day before Christmas Break. And what a waste of a day. The whole school did a sing-along, and now my class is watching "Muppet Christmas Carol." We read most of the book these past two weeks. And now we are watching the movie. I have some new thoughts about the Winter Holidays and school. I don't think I would be as aware of it all if it wasn't for the fact that I have one Jewish student in a predominately Christian community. I've learned so much from that one student this season. More about living my own religion and showing tolerance towards other religions. As well as trying to find out what I can about the other religions too. This student and his mother came in and taught my class about Chanuka I found it incredible and I want to learn so much more. I'm so grateful for this new awareness I have about the Holidays. We put so much on Christmas and not on the others, at least around here we do.
I'm not doing much for my holiday break, I am going to go with my family over the weekend. I am going to get some stuff planned for the rest of the school year, and I am going play a little bit. All of my friends are still in school and now I can do things with them. I am very excited for the break.
I am also very excited to be able to work on the things I want to get started. January is a good time for me to change a few things and make them better than they were before. I am going to be better. I guess that is what my New Year's goal is going to be, I will be a better teacher than I have been.
Happy Holidays! I hope you have the time to relax and spend it with those you love.
