One week! I'm so excited and scared. Sometimes I wonder what I have gotten myself into, at other times it can't come any sooner. I am a sixth grade teacher. I got my job on April 30. I signed with the school district on May 1. This job is the one I wanted from about January. And it is great that it is mine. This school is incredible. The parent support is amazing by the end of the school year they would like every classroom to have a Smart Board. The district can't fund it so the PTA is making an active effort to get all this in the classrooms.
The scary part I find is trying to set up my own classroom. It is kind of intimidating. I don't know what to do, or how to do it. I wish the Education department made it a requirement to help a teacher set up for the first day of school. Oh well, I think after this year I will be a pro. I'll post pictures once I get in the school and get started.
